Canfield - See all my reviews    The above description is more than a bit misleading concerning the security of the product against physical intrusion. The statement "Precise fittings are virtually impossible to pry open with hand tools" is false. The Gunvualt has approximately a 3/16" gap at the top of the door and 1/8" gap along the sides allowing it to be easily and quickly pried open with any small pry bar. If you are shopping for a product to protect your handguns (other valuables) from theft or fire, then this is not the product you need. A heavy floor safe with a combination lock is the best option for theft and fire protection. If you want a product to secure a handgun from small children and still allow quick access when needed, then this should work fine. The programmable combination system works as described, and if used properly will keep young children out yet still allow access with the combination in seconds. It only takes a couple seconds to access your firearm yet it's completely secured from prying hands so you can leave it loaded safely. The molded channels facilitate the ability to unlock this safe by touch in low light conditions too. It has knockout holes in the bottom to permanently affix it to something solid if you wish an even higher level of security. If your gun isn't on your hip, it ought to be in one of these, particularly if you've got kids who might get a hold of it inappropriately. This version is big enough to take two medium sized semi-automatics with an extra magazines or revolvers and speedloaders. You can also use one shelf for the gun and the other for your passport or other valuables you want readily available but don't use every day. If you use only one weapon, the bottom shelf is less likely to snag something when you remove it. You should, however, practice opening it and removing the weapon with an unloaded firearm... It worked well for 14 months--it was covered by a 12 month warranty. At that time the lock release activated by the keypad quit working. The keypad could not be used and it could only be opened with the key. The company said they would not repair the unit and offered to replace it for $80 plus shipping cost. They said they no longer service old units (14 months old?). For the price of this unit I expected it to last much longer. The company does not stand behind their product. The kids liked it and it kept them quiet and patient while in the boat so long. They didn't care weather they caught something or not....,they just liked looking and watching. It must have got water in the unit you look thru as after the 1st use it had a black/brown streak running thru the middle (of course) of the viewfinder. That made it difficult to really see good after that. Waiting to see if it will dry out and be OK later on. Can't use it trolling or in any weedy area's as if it gets stuck in the weeds and you pull, you could tear off the camera part and then it would be ruined and you might as well throw it away. Good for kids still fishing...off the end of the dock or quiet waters. Cost is too high a price to pay to keep kids entertained. Adults won't care for it. Too short a pole and it makes a loud noise when being cranked up. Enough to scare the fish and wake the dead. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Wish I could return... WARNING; DON'T WAIT TO LONG TO DECIDED TO PURCHASE OR LIKE ME YOU'LL END UP HAVING TO RAID THE WEB SEARCHING FOR WHO CARRINGS THIS PRODUCT IN XL. My first purchase was the standard large size and after several washings they seemed to shrink a bit, enough so that they no longer reached the top of my boot. On my second purchase of these socks I selected the XL size socks even though I wear a size 10 shoe. The heel may be a bit out of place at first, but after a couple of washing I'm sure you'll be pleased as I am.
